Putin says Russia’s child support measures insufficient

VLADIVOSTOK, Sep 2 (PRIME) -- Russia’s current child support measures are insufficient, President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday.

“You and I know, and I’m talking to the members of the government now, … they (support measures) are not yet sufficient,” Putin said.

“There is not yet full support from birth to graduation, while we must have it. I’ve talked about this many times and asked the government to work on this.”

Putin added that specific measures are needed to support families with children in the Far East.

“Just like we create the most attractive conditions in the economy, capital could be invested here,” he said.

“We also need to create conditions for the families so that it would be attractive to have children here, and not in the other territories, not as elsewhere, but here it should be more attractive.”
